Farm fresh eggs from Fuller Farm for breakfast! Shout out to our good friend Vivian, who turns us on to all sorts of cool gadgets. We made them in our Dash Mini...and hot water for coffee in our cute little Bodum electric water heater.
Here is our "To-Go" set up:
If yesterday was Barry's "dream museum day" (Evel Knievel), then mine was today! We visited the International Quilt Museum - shout out to Uncle Brad who was the one who told me about it - he visited with Aunt Val on one of their epic road trips.
We even met a gentleman who was finishing a quilt that was given to the museum by an unknown person likely started in the 1850's!
Seems like we are on a mission to see all of the big midwest college campuses. We drove by University of Nebraska...wanted to see a Cornhusker statue, or a gigantic "N", but all we came across were small "N's" all over town - not as impressive as the other campuses we saw.
Driving out of Lincoln - we thought this was pretty funny...it's no secret what is sold in this store!
Off to Omaha! I did not have much expectation at all, but was so surprised at how impressed we were at their downtown and Riverwalk area. The National Parks Service has thier Midwest Regional Center located here right next to the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge, which connects Nebraska and Iowa across the Missouri River.
Can you see the array of aluminum foil containers that made up this sculpture?
At the NP Store I got dad a National Park GEEK pin! Ha! Ha!
So that makes 2 states we were in. Our final leg for the day had us cross into South Dakota for a peiod of time as we made our way up from Sioux City northward.
So here is the South Dakota sign...and the Iowa sign:
We took a turn east just before Sioux Falls to stay at our next farm - the Stensland Family Farm. They make and sell a variety of cheeses, ice creams and pizzas! Dinner time anyways, so we grabbed ourselves a "Supreme Sourdough" and made it on the "Pizza Pizzaz", an amazing invention that I had never seen before! Pretty good frozen pizza, but the piece de resistance was their ice cream!
This was the view from the rear of our van at sunset!
GOOD NIGHT!
Miles driven: 250
