2025 - Quick Dallas Trip (Sell, Sell, Sell Like Hell!)

To cap off our summer of "Sell, Sell, Sell like Hell", we decided that Barry would get a bunch of toys to take over to Dallas Vintage Toys.  This is the place that he sold a bunch of stuff to before we left Dallas.  Apparently they are one of the largest vintage toy stores in the US.  They are currently under renovation, but Barry has kept in touch with the owner (Shaun), and they agreed to meet!

We drove back through our old neighborhood at The Tribute to see what is new, and took a peek at Barry's mural - it's holding up great!

We always wanted to try to stay at a place called Hidden Cove on Lake Lewisville.  This is where we first tried paddle-boarding, and they offer RV and tent camping as well.  We got a beautiful site right by the water, and since it was mid-week, it was not crowded at all!

We had thought we were going to leave Luke in the van, but he was so adamant about following us to the water, we decided to try to take him out even though I forgot to bring his life jacket.  The water is shallow and calm and he got right onto my board and was calm the entire time!

For dinner we met Lillian, Dan, Gaby & Danny over at Craftway Kitchen.  I had some Toyota memorabilia to pass on to Lillian, and books for Gaby...purge!  purge!  purge!  It was so nice to catch up with these guys...the 6 of us used to get together whenever possible for dinner when we were living there.  Now all of us are empty nesters...Gaby & Danny just send Winter to SCAD for freshman year!

Gave them a tour of the van 😀

The next morning we headed to eat at Joe T. Garcia's in Fort Worth.  The Nicely's were the ones that told us about this place and they made the drive to meet us there!

We ended our short road trip with a Harvest Host stay at Walker Honey Farm in Rogers, TX.   Such a cute place!  We got a free mead tasting, and ordered a charcuterie to go...we had to leave at 5am to get back home for Barry to play his pickleball league doubles game!
