2025 - California Dreamin' (...and our 60th birthday celebration)

My group of High School girlfriends has been trying to keep up our get-togethers to celebrate milestone birthdays.  This year marks our 60th, and Larry & Dee Dee were kind enough to allow us to stay at their home in Nipomo for a long weekend...all 8 of us made it!

I decided to come in early to spend some time helping my mom with her final move into Regents, and visit with a few others (Bryan, the Archambault's, Amy, and Jackie).  Since I was by myself though, and I am not the greatest photo-documentarian, a quick re-cap is the best I can do.

I stayed at my cousin Angela & Peter's for one night before moving to Larry & Dee Dee's.  We had a great time reminiscing, and conducting "therapy" over our shared Wang heritage 😂.  Also, I got to take in a beach walk with Cousin Elise at Crystal Cove State Beach, and spend quality time with Roxy!

Mom's new apartment is looking good.  I helped her out with a tiny bit of unpacking and organizing...sadly, she does not know how to/or is unwilling to ask family to help her with many things, so we end up in a lot of unnecessary arguments.  Larry & I were able to sneak out the ~30 boxes of my dad's notecards. I finally dusted off, organized, and downsized them to 23 boxes, which were taken to storage.

With some pre-planning and Steph's free passes, my old Toyota co-workers were also able to plan a day at DISNEY with Hannah, who also turned 60 this year!

ON TO NIPOMO!

We headed to Nipomo in 4 cars (Nancy & I from OC, Kristen & Tina from SB, Kimberly & Traci from Burbank, Susan & Viv from San Jose), and met up at Costco in Santa Maria.  We were already having too much fun...even "scaring" some of the other shoppers with our loud laughter!

CHEER's to a fun weekend together!

On Thursday, a few of us went to the gym at the crack of dawn, and then we all took a leisurely walk through Trilogy before going in to San Luis Obispo for Firestone Tri-Tip lunch and Farmer's Market.

Friday we packed lunches and walked the Bob Jones Trail to Avila Beach for a picnic and walk along the pier.

On the way home we stopped in Arroyo Grande, where Kimberly & Denice have membership at a cute little winery called Timbre.  They had not visited in so long that she got us 50% off glasses, and tomorrow we can come by for 3 free tastings!

On our way home, we visited Susan's future kitty - she is adopting "Half-Moon" from her friend who is a vet in Arroyo Grande.

Our dinners were fantastic, thanks mainly to Kimberly & Susan!

Nancy had to leave early, on Saturday.  After some teary good-byes, the rest of us went to the Luffa Farm down the street, where we learned all sorts of info about these things most people think come from the ocean!

We could not pass up free wine tasting at Timbre...

Extra time spent in Arroyo Grande on the "Swinging Bridge"

There is nothing like memories made with some of your oldest friends...Susan & I have known one another since first grade!

Throughout the years...

Beautiful weekend...THANKS Larry & Dee Dee!

SHARING MORE OF THE CENTRAL COAST

Larry, Dee Dee & Roxy drove upon Sunday, and the boys flew in that day as well.  We were able to show Roland all of our favorite places around the San Luis Obispo County area and then some...

Good-bye Roxy!  Until next time...keep up with the squirrel chasing!
