CHRISTMAS 2024

Our Christmas holidays this year were both different, and productive...explanation...

First off, the kids would not be with us this year.  Since they spent both holidays with us in 2023, and I was making them be with us for Thanksgiving, we told them we didn't want to be those parents that hogged up every holiday.  So, Bryan and Sian went up to Palo Alto to be with her parents and spend Christmas in their newly remodeled home...and Jacob traveled with Dia and her mom to France, where Dia's Aunt, Uncle & cousin live!

Secondly, my mom is attempting to transition from her home of 50+ years to a Senior Living Community in Irvine.  This requires a story in and of itself - it has been 6 years of ups and downs, twists and turns to have finally reached this point, but even leading up to the final days & weeks of us leaving for CA, we were unsure if she was going, and more importantly whether we were going to be helping her with anything.

Rather than a play-by-play entry, I have the following photos and collages to describe or time in CA.  Sadly, we didn't take many photos our first couple of days which were spent with Bryan & Sian (family photographer Jacob was not in attendance!), or dim sum with Kathy & Bill.

Sadly...after Carlsbad, it was time to drive home...Luke is a road warrior, such a trooper!
