Day 85 - 86 (7/27 - 7/28): Bentonville, AR

As I mentioned in my last post, I decided to treat us to a stay at 21C's at the end of our trip.  Bentonville is the first one we ever stayed at together, and is our last stop before home.

We just love this town, and have seen it's growth over the years.  This is our 3rd time visiting - and boy has it changed since the last time we visited during the pandemic.  Walmart continues to grow and expand, and continues to pump monies into this community. Since we have been here before and it is too hot, we skipped the main museums, Crystal Bridges and The Momentary, but we wanted to do the beautiful walk from downtown to Crystal Bridges. Sadly, we discovered that a HUGE tornado came through on Memorial Day weekend that devastated some areas of the walk and bike trails.

Thankfully most of the artwork survived:

Since the Sam Walton Museum is being renovated, they put together a small temporary "exhibit" on the bottom floor of their latest building called the Heritage Lab, complete with a Sam Walton AI hologram (A bit creepy).

Luke has been such a trooper on this long road trip...!

Tomorrow we head home!

GOOD NIGHT!

Miles driven: 213 (KC to Bentonville)
