Day 77 - 78 (7/19 - 7/20): FARGO!

We drive straight across the state of North Dakota similar to the way we drove across South Dakota, only this time we are on the 94 Hwy.  From Dickenson, we stopped at a couple of fun spots to see: Salem Sue, Dakota Thunder, and Frontier Village.

We finally arrive in Fargo and take the photo op with the actual wood chipper from the movie FARGO!!!!

Aside from Fargo being famous from the original 1996 movie, it really is a cool town.  We did not realize how close to the border of Minnesota it is...on our walk downtown we are in North Dakota one minute and then the next we are in Minnesota!  We happen to be here during their annual Street Fair, so we see a lot of that, but we also take in the Plains Art Museum as well as all of the nicely preserved architecture.

There is a lot of lineage from Scandinavia here, and we walked over to the Historical and Cultural Society, where there are full scale replicas of a Viking Ship and Stave Church.  Unfortunately with Luke, we could not go in to see the ship.  We learn about the term "Uff da", which I think is the Norwegian term for "AIYA"!!!!

Tomorrow we are off to Minneapolis - we are about a week and a half away from the end of this amazing road trip!

GOOD NIGHT!

Miles driven: 302 (Dickenson to Fargo)
