DAY 11 (5/14/24): Close Encounters

Barry made a new friend today :)

Devil's Tower was great!   Since we stayed right next door, we got to the Visitor's Center just as they were opening and got on the hike/walk around the base BEFORE the tour groups and school field trips :)

It was really cool to see a climber ascending!  Can you spot him/her in this next photo?  In another life, and at another age...that would be cool to do!

Barry has been busy filling up his National Parks Passport Book at each Visitor Center...FUN!  Although the book has been around since the 80's we did not start it until the mid 90's.

His Lifetime Senior Pass had also come in so very handy!  If you are over 62...go get it!

On our way out of the Devil's Tower area we saw Longhorns and Bison living together in harmony!

This guy seems to be looking right at us!

We stopped at Little Bighorn National Monument when we hit Montana.  This piece of history was very moving, and helps you better realize all of the sacrifices (on BOTH sides) that were made in the past that led to where we are today.

It was raining pretty hard by the time we left, so we made our way to our spot for the night - another Harvest Host location at Yellowstone Cellars & Winery.  What a treat to do a little tasting and have some dinner before calling it a day :)

GOOD NIGHT!
