We started our morning by buying a pint of strawberry ice cream from the Stensland's, it was THAT GOOD - and then we were off to Sioux Falls. Cute town! The main attraction is Falls Park which would be a bit more enjoyable were it not for the smells of the nearby cows :(

It was a quick stop, because today we needed to make our way across the state of South Dakota on the 90 to the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site & Badlands National Park. We made it to Minuteman with not a "minute" to spare - Ha! Ha! ... just in time for the last movie showing of the day, which gives the background of the missile sites that were placed all over the Plains States during the Cold War. We were not able to get a tour of the missile site that is open to the public - we would have had to make a reservation for that months in advance, and that is one that I missed (I know, I can't believe it myself...). The ranger was kind enough to notice that "Flat Dad" was traveling with us and agreed to take a photo with him (he has obviously taken many photos with many "Flats" :)

Badlands rises out of the rolling plains in such a strange and beautiful way...we were able to do a little bit of the main drive before hitting our campground, and will do the rest tomorrow. For now we will relax at our campsite where we have access overnight to regular toilets for the first time!!!!...it's the little things...
Our campsite...and a shot when the moon came out. The sounds at night of all of the animals was amazing! Too bad we couldn't somehow capture what we heard...GOOD NIGHT!
